🐾 A Special Therapy Dog Visit at Gumnut

Today the children in GumnutĀ enjoyed a very special visit from a therapy dog from Guide Dogs NSW.

The visit gave the children a wonderful opportunity to learn more about guide dogs and the important role they play in supporting people in the community. The children listened carefully as they learned how guide dogs help their owners and what makes these dogs so special.

They also explored how to be safe and respectful around dogs. The children practiced calm approaches, gentle pats, and learned why it’s important to always ask before touching a dog.

There were plenty of smiles and excitement throughout the visit, and it was lovely to see the children showing such kindness and confidence while interacting with our furry visitor.

Experiences like this help children build understanding, empathy, and confidence when meeting animals in their everyday lives.

A big thank you to Guide Dogs NSW for visiting Gumnut and sharing such a meaningful experience with the children. 🐶
